Had the same issue! Updating my graphics driver did the trick. Worth giving it a shot!
Honestly, you might want to check your monitor settings before messing with the game. Sometimes the fix is right there.
You could also try tweaking the in-game settings for better lighting. Increasing the contrast sometimes helps too!
