My way is to unplug the power cable, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. Simple and effective!

To reset your Xbox, go to Settings > System > Console Info > Reset Console, and select either 'Reset and remove everything' or 'Reset and keep my games & apps.' Easy peasy!
