Easy peasy! Open the Facebook app, tap on the three horizontal lines (menu), go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Media and Contacts, and toggle the 'Continuous Contacts Upload' to 'On'.
Why bother syncing contacts? Just add your friends manually. Takes a bit longer, but saves you from random contacts cluttering your list.
Been there, done that! Go to Facebook settings, find 'Media and Contacts,' and toggle 'Continuous Contacts Upload.' Worked like a charm for me!
