First, you'll need a small Phillips-head screwdriver. Unscrew the four screws on the back of the controller, then gently pry apart the two halves using a plastic prying tool or your fingernail. Be careful not to yank it apart too quickly because of the ribbon cables inside!

Just unscrew the back and pop it open. It's really that simple. Just be careful with the small parts inside.

Make sure to have a clean, organized workspace. After removing the screws, separate the back panel slowly. Watch out for the inner components, especially the ribbon cables鈥攖hey're delicate and easily damaged.

I鈥檝e done this a few times. You need to remove the screws from the back, then slowly open the controller to avoid damaging the cables. Once inside, you'll see the battery and the circuit board. Proceed with caution!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
