How do you tell fake Pokemon cards?
GroaningRush·7 months agoCheck the card texture and color first - fake cards often feel different than real ones, like they're too glossy or too stiff. Real Pokemon cards have a bit of a sheen but aren't overly shiny. Also, the colors on a counterfeit card might look off, either too dull or too bright. Another dead giveaway is the card border; real Pokemon cards have a distinct yellow border that's consistent across cards, so if it’s uneven or a weird shade, it's likely a fake. Lastly, the font used for text on fake cards can be a big red flag. It might be the wrong size, or just look 'off' compared to genuine cards.

Honestly, just weigh them. Real Pokemon cards have a specific weight to them, and fakes often weigh less because they're made with cheaper materials. It’s not foolproof, but it’s a quick check if you have a scale handy.
Fake cards? Text and spelling errors. I've seen my fair share of 'Pikatchu' and 'Charisard' in the wild. Also, check the card back - it should have a smooth finish, and the Pokeball design should be crisp and centered. Any blurriness or misalignment there is a surefire sign of a forgery.
