Open the map and look at the icons on the top left. Sun icon means warm, and snowflake icon means cold. Simple as that!
Check the temperature gauge on your Orb Vallis map. Warm cycles show temperatures above 0掳C, while cold cycles show temperatures below 0掳C.
You can tell by the color tone and weather effects when you're in Orb Vallis. Warm cycles are brighter and clearer, cold cycles are darker and stormier.
