How Do You Use the Codex Scanner in Warframe on PC?
First, make sure you have Codex Scanners equipped in your Gear wheel. Press Q to open the Gear wheel in-mission, select the Codex Scanner, and then aim with your mouse. It highlights scannable objects – hold down the fire button to scan!

Equip Codex Scanners in your gear, press Q during a mission, and then left-click to scan. Easy peasy.
Just press Q to open your Gear menu, select Codex Scanner, and hold left-click to start scanning targets.
Equip Codex Scanners in your Arsenal > Gear, then press Q in-game, select the scanner, and hold the fire button to scan. It's basically Warframe's version of point-and-shoot!
