I swear it's random sometimes. Got paired with a total legend and a complete newbie in the same squad. Makes for some memorable matches though!
Lol, it feels like Apex just throws everyone in a blender sometimes, but nah, it's actually skill-based. They check how good you are (or aren't) and try to find you a squad and opponents that won't make you toss your controller through the window.
Skill-based for sure, but don't forget about your play style and tactics. Playing smart can sometimes beat raw skill.
