How does borrowing work on Steam?
ResolvingGame路7 months agoSteam's borrowing feature is part of its Family Sharing system. Basically, it lets you share your game library with family and close friends. Here's the lowdown: You authorize their computer to access your games, and they can then download and play them as long as you're not playing. It's a cool way to try games without buying them but remember, only one person can play from the library at a time!

Steam doesn't have a 'borrowing' feature per se. It's called Family Sharing. You share your entire game library with someone, but the catch is, if the owner wants to play any game in their library, the borrower gets kicked off. So it's like a library, but you can't both read the same book at the same time.
Family Sharing on Steam is like telling your friend they can dive into your game stash, but if you decide to game, they're out. More like a 'take turns' system than traditional borrowing. Ya know?
Actually, the closest thing Steam has to borrowing is its Family Sharing feature. It's kind of cool but keep in mind, any game achievements or saves are tied to the borrower's account, not yours. Perfect if you trust your friend not to mess up your game progress!
