In Fallout 76, damage resistance (DR) reduces the amount of damage you take from attacks. It's kinda like wearing an invisible suit of armor around your character. The higher your DR, the less damage you'll take from enemy hits. This applies to physical, energy, and radiation damage, so it's super important to equip your character with the right armor and perks to boost your DR. Remember, though: DR has diminishing returns, so doubling your DR won't make you invincible, but it'll definitely make you tougher to take down!

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but DR isn't everything. You gotta balance your DR with other stats and perks for the best survival chances. Don't just stack DR and call it a day.

Basically, think of DR as a shield against all the nasties in the wasteland. More DR = less ouch.
