How does Extirpate work in MTG?
Extirpate is pretty straightforward: it exiles a card from a graveyard plus all other cards with the same name from the game, and it can't be countered because of Split Second. No fancy tricks or loopholes; it's just a clean, surgical removal.

Honestly, Extirpate feels like overkill. Most of the time a simple Tormod's Crypt does the job without using up a precious slot in your black deck.
Extirpate is a sneaky spell in MTG that targets a card in a player's graveyard. The key here is its Split Second ability, meaning as soon as you play it, no one can respond until it's done its job. You choose a card in a graveyard, then not only is that card exiled, but any other cards with the same name in the player's graveyard, hand, and library also get exiled. And to add insult to injury, the player has to shuffle their library afterwards. It's like saying, 'Nope, you're not playing that card again this game... or possibly ever.'
