In Magic The Gathering, when a card is 'flickered,' it means the card is temporarily exiled from the battlefield and then returned back to it under its owner's control. This usually happens at the end of turn or immediately, depending on the flicker effect's text. When the card comes back, it's considered a new object with no memory of its previous state. So, any counters, enchantments, or equipments on it are gone, and any damage it had is wiped clean.

Flickering is basically MTG's way of saying 'be right back' for a card. It leaves, takes a quick trip to the exile zone, then comes back fresh and unburdened by the past, like it just had a mini vacation.

Just remember, not all flickers are created equal. Read the card! Some bring the creature back at end step, which can dodge sorcery-speed removals or reset ETB (enter the battlefield) effects for another use. Others flicker and return instantly, great for surprise blocks or saving a creature from a burn spell.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
