It's pretty simple: equip the Hunter Recovery mod on your pet, and whenever it deals damage to enemies, you get healed based on a percentage of that damage. Easy peasy!
Honestly, unless you're taking a lot of damage regularly, Hunter Recovery might not be worth the mod slot. There, I said it.
