You can't use more than 4 of the same card in a deck, end of story. That's the rule both in paper Magic and MTG Arena. It keeps the game balanced.

As a long-time MTG player, the 4-copy rule is golden. MTG Arena treats your 5th card as a chance to contribute towards something cool, like opening the Vault. It's like getting a bonus for already winning.

In MTG Arena, you can have more than 4 of a card in your collection, but you can only include up to 4 copies of any non-basic land card in a single deck. This follows the same rule as paper Magic. However, if you draft or open packs and get a 5th copy, it's not a waste! MTG Arena has a system called the Vault. For every 5th copy of a common or uncommon card, you receive progress towards unlocking the Vault, which gives you wildcards.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
