How does PvP work in Fallout 76?
PvP in Fallout 76 is kinda like a polite fistfight at a post-apocalyptic tea party. You spot another player, and if you wanna duke it out, you start shooting them. But here's the catch - the damage is super low until they decide to shoot back, making it a consensual battle of doom. If you don't wanna participate, simply don't shoot back and you'll take minimal damage. If you're both in for the rumble, then it's game on, and the winner gets a bounty of Caps. Also, after level 5, you're open for PvP, so keep those stimpacks handy!

PvP? More like PvPlease. It's all about consent. You can't just go around blasting willy-nilly. Both parties gotta agree to fight by shooting back. Keeps things civilized in the wasteland.
I once got into a PvP match right outside Vault 76. Thought I was hot stuff until the other player agreed to the fight and whipped out a weapon that looked like it could take down a Vertibird. Let's just say, I learned to pick my battles more wisely after that. But yeah, it's a fun way of testing your build against others, and you might even make some in-game friends... or rivals.
