Sorcerous Spyglass is a pretty neat card in MTG! When you play it, you first peek at an opponent's hand and then choose any card name (not just the ones you saw). After that, the chosen card's activated abilities (except mana abilities) can't be activated, and that's true for cards on the battlefield, in hand, or anywhere really. So, if you've got a hunch your opponent has a game-winning creature or planeswalker, you can shut it down before it becomes a threat.

It just shuts down activated abilities of the named card. Choose wisely; it doesn't affect mana abilities, so you can't stop lands from tapping for mana. Simple and effective!

Honestly, Sorcerous Spyglass is overrated. Sure, you get to see your opponent's hand and silence a card, but smart players can work around it. Plus, if you name a card they don't draw, it's kind of a wasted effort.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
