How does the stack in MTG work?
The stack is super simple: Last in, first out. Cast a spell? On the stack. Someone counters that spell? That counter goes on top, and resolves first. Keep going till there's nothing left to resolve.

Sorry, but anyone who says the stack is confusing just isn't paying attention. It's just a sequence of actions where you resolve the last thing first, no biggie.
Think of the stack in Magic The Gathering like a stack of dishes. Each time a player casts a spell, activates an ability, or triggers an effect, it's like adding another dish to the top of the stack. The last thing added to the stack resolves first, and you work your way down. Players can add more spells or abilities in response, creating a pile-up. Once everyone is done adding to the stack, the top (most recent) spells or abilities resolve one by one, in reverse order they were added.
