How does the stack work in MTG with exile?
The stack in MTG acts like a stack of plates. Each time a player casts a spell, activates an ability, or triggers an ability, it's like putting a plate on the top of the stack. Everything has to resolve (or happen) in the opposite order it was put on the stack, last thing first. When something gets exiled, it's usually because a spell or ability that exiles cards was put on the stack and then resolved. If a spell or ability tries to exile something from the stack, it waits for its turn to resolve. So, if you cast a spell to exile an opponent's creature, and they respond with a spell to give that creature hexproof, their hexproof spell resolves first, potentially saving the creature from exile.

Honestly, the stack is overcomplicated. Just play creatures and turn them sideways. Who needs exile?
Stack is easy: Last in, first out. Exile is just a place cards go when specific spells or abilities send them there. If you're trying to exile something from the stack, just remember your exile effect has to resolve before the thing you're targeting does.
