How does the tap symbol work in MTG?
Oh, tapping? That's just gamer lingo for taking a quick nap... Just kidding! When you tap a card in MTG, you're basically using it for the turn. Turn that card sideways to show it's been activated. Can't use it again until it's upright, so choose wisely!

In Magic The Gathering, the tap symbol (which looks like a sideways 'T') indicates that you need to turn a card 90 degrees to show it's being used. Generally, this action is for generating mana from lands or activating abilities of creatures, artifacts, or other permanents. Once tapped, a card can't be tapped again until it's untapped, which usually happens at the beginning of its controller's next turn.
Tapping is overrated. Just go for the big creatures and smash. Who needs to tap when you're winning, am I right?
