It's simple: place two teleporter devices at different locations, then just step through one to appear at the other.
Teleporter's basically fast travel for lazy folks like me! Just place one portal where you are and another where you want to go. Boom, instant travel!
Honestly, I prefer running through the forest. It's faster than setting up teleporters.
