Just to be that guy - Winter Orb doesn't exactly stop all lands from untapping. Each player can still untap one land during their untap step. So, it's more of a tactical slow down than a complete halt. Use it to your advantage and watch your opponents squirm!
I used to play with Winter Orb back in the days, and let me tell you, it was the centerpiece of my freeze deck. People hate it but that's the point. Only one land untaps during your untap phase, so make every land count. Also, pair it with cards that let you untap artifacts or bypass its restriction for maximum fun (or annoyance, depending on which side of the table you're on).
