X Rank in Splatoon 2 is the top tier rank reserved for the best of the best in Ranked Battles. Players who have surpassed S+10 enter the X Rank tier, where they compete for higher X Power. The X Power determines your ranking within X Rank and is calculated based on your performance in battles.

Basically, X Rank is the ultra-competitive league of Splatoon 2... think of it as where the pros play! Once you reach S+10 in any ranked mode, you move to X Rank and battle to increase your X Power.
X Rank is Nintendo's way of saying, "Congratulations, you're Ink-credible!" It's the highest ranking tier after S+10, and you compete for X Power instead of rank points.
