You'd be surprised how early kids can start getting the hang of MTG! I started teaching my little cousin when she was about 7. It's all about making it fun and not overwhelming them with complicated rules at first. Start with the basics and use the simpler decks. There are even some products designed with younger players in mind, so keep an eye out for those.

Honestly, as soon as they can read and do basic math, they're ready. I've seen 5-year-olds with a better strategic grasp than some adults. Just tailor the experience to their level and have patience.

10 years old is the sweet spot, IMO. They've got enough patience by then, and they're usually good at reading and basic math, which is a lot of what MTG is about. Plus, they're starting to think strategically, which makes it more fun for everyone.

6 or 7, but it's more about the kid than the age. Some kids can focus and enjoy the challenge earlier. Key is to simplify the game at first. Maybe skip some of the more complex rules and focus on the fun part - summoning creatures and casting spells.

Nah, wait until they're at least 12. Younger kids just don't have the attention span for a game as complex as MTG, and it'll just end up frustrating for both of you.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
