Open the Gates is pretty neat for mana fixing, especially in multicolor decks. It's a low-cost way to ensure you get the land or Gate you need right into your hand, making your deck more consistent. Plus, it thins your deck, slightly increasing the chance to draw into non-land cards later. Great for draft and sealed formats!

Honestly, Open the Gates is just okay. It's super situational. Outside of a deck that heavily utilizes Gates or desperately needs specific mana colors, it's likely to just take up a card slot that could be better used. There are way better options for deck thinning and mana fixing.

Used it in a draft once, pulled exactly the Gate I needed for a perfect play next turn. Felt like a pro. So yeah, in the right deck, Open the Gates can be a game changer.
