Why hide it? Friends lists are like trophies! But if you must, just tweak your privacy settings as others mentioned.
Privacy settings, manage section, change to 'Only Me.' Done.
Super easy! Go to your profile, click on the 'Friends' tab, then click the pencil icon to 'Manage,' and change the visibility to 'Only Me.'
