Photosynthesis uses sunlight to turn CO2 and water into sugar and oxygen. Cellular respiration, on the other hand, takes that sugar and oxygen to produce CO2, water, and energy (ATP). Opposite processes!

Cellular respiration breaks down glucose to release energy, while photosynthesis builds glucose using sunlight. It's like photosynthesis is the cook making the meal, and cellular respiration is you eating it!

One makes food and oxygen; the other uses them up. Science is pretty wild, huh?

Photosynthesis happens in chloroplasts in plants, while cellular respiration takes place in mitochondria in both plants and animals. Go team mitochondria!
