Undertale determines EXP based on how many monsters you take down. The more you fight, the higher your LV gets. But remember, EXP doesn't just stand for experience; it's Execution Points in this game!
EXP in Undertale is a bit twisted because you gain it by causing harm. Every monster you kill gives you EXP, which increases your LV (Level of Violence). So if you're a pacifist, you won't earn any EXP!
It's kinda messed up but EXP in Undertale comes from fighting and killing monsters. The more you kill, the higher your LV will be.
