Not long. Luffy uses Gear 5 for short bursts since it drains him quickly.
Luffy's Gear 5 is still shrouded in some mystery, but he can use it for about a few minutes before the strain kicks in. Don鈥檛 expect him to hold it for an entire episode!
From what I鈥檝e seen in the series, Luffy usually has to revert back to normal after a short period due to the sheer energy drain.
