For a typical MTG draft, you’re gonna need a total of 42 cards from drafting packs. That's 3 booster packs per player, with each pack containing 14 cards for drafting and 1 basic land card that's usually set aside. After drafting, you'll build a minimum 40-card deck from the cards you picked. Remember, you can add as many basic lands as you need to flesh out your deck!

Only 40 cards are needed for your deck in a draft, but you'll draft around 42 cards to get there. Focus on a good mix of creatures and spells.

42 cards from packs, but trust me, it's not just about the number. It's picking the right cards that gel together. Drafting is an art!

Honestly? Just snag 3 booster packs and go with the flow. MTG draft is more about strategy than numbers.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
