Just to shake things up - technically, you draw 0 cards 'to start' because those seven cards are your initial hand, not drawn during your draw step. But yeah, 7 is the magic number at game start.

In MTG Commander, each player starts with a hand of seven cards. So, you draw seven cards at the beginning of the game. Remember, this format also has a unique rule where if you’re not happy with your first hand, you can take a mulligan and draw a new hand of seven, but you have to shuffle the first hand back into your deck!
