In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can have up to 8 playable characters (or villagers) per island. Each one needs a separate user profile on your Nintendo Switch. This means you, your family, or your friends can all have a villager living on the same island paradise!

Just 1 character... if you're a true solo gaming purist and want to keep your island to yourself. But seriously, up to 8 people can make their own villager on a single island if they've each got their own user profile on the console.

As of my last playthrough, you're looking at a max of 8 characters per island. That's plenty of room for making it a bustling community or a tight-knit group of friends. Each character gets their own house to decorate too!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
