How Many Creatures Should Be in a MTG Deck?

The perfect number of creatures in a Magic The Gathering deck really depends on your strategy, but a good rule of thumb is around 20 to 25 for most decks. This gives you a solid base to attack and defend, while still leaving room for spells, lands, and other non-creature cards. Of course, if you're playing a more creature-centric strategy, you might bump that number up.

Honestly, it's all about balance. There isn't a magic number. Some decks run fine with 10-15 creatures, especially if they're heavy on control or combo elements. Then you get those aggressive decks that jam in 30+ creatures and just overrun you. It's key to know what your deck wants to do and build around that.

15 or 40, who cares? Just make sure they're shiny!

I've seen decks with zero creatures pull off wins. It's not about the number; it's how you use them. Or don't.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!
