How many energy cards should you include in a Pokemon TCG deck?

Honestly, it totally depends on the deck you're running. Aggro decks might push for more energy, around 16-18, to consistently power their moves. Meanwhile, control decks could lean towards the lower end, like 10-12, focusing more on strategy and specific combos.

I've seen decks win with just 8 energy cards. It's all about how you play and what your strategy is. So, there's no one-size-fits-all answer.

The sweet spot for energy cards in a Pokemon TCG deck usually lands around 12 to 16 cards. This amount allows for a balanced deck, giving you a good mix of Pokemon, Trainer, and Energy cards. However, it really depends on your deck strategy. Some decks might do well with less if they rely more on abilities or Trainer cards to get energy into play.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
