Honestly, 2 Mbps is more than enough. Any modern connection should suffice.

As long as you're not on dial-up, 1-2 Mbps should be fine for TF2. Just keep your cat off the router!

I play TF2 all the time and anything above 2 Mbps works great. Just avoid downloading movies while you play.
