First edition Hot Wheels can vary wildly in price, depending on their condition and rarity. Some of the very first ones from 1968, like the Custom Camaro or Beatnik Bandit in mint condition, can fetch thousands of dollars at auction. But it's not just about being old; rarity, demand, and condition play huge roles in determining their value. Always have a trusted expert check it out before you shell out big bucks!

Honestly, unless you've got a rare gem like a pink '67 Camaro, don't expect to retire early. Most first editions are cool but won't pay for a new car. Still, never hurts to check!

My cousin found a first edition in his attic, got all excited, but it turned out to be worth like 50 bucks. Don't get your hopes up unless you know it's a rare one.
