It varies quite a bit depending on the artist's experience, reputation, and negotiation skills, but many MTG artists start with a flat fee per piece, which can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Additionally, they might get royalties from sales of special or collector's editions that feature their art.

From what I've heard, it's a mix. Some artists get a solid upfront payment while others benefit more from the royalties, especially if their artwork is featured on high-demand cards.

Honestly, not enough for the incredible art they produce. But it really depends on their contract specifics. Some might get more through royalties, especially for popular card prints.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
