Don't expect to strike it rich with just any Japanese Pokemon card. While some rare cards from the original sets can fetch eye-watering prices, the average card isn't going to pay off your mortgage. However, those rare finds? Definitely worth hunting for.

The price of original Japanese Pokemon cards can vary wildly, depending on rarity, condition, and whether they're part of a special edition. You might find common cards for a few dollars, but rare ones, especially those in mint condition, can sell for thousands. It's all about the demand and how much collectors are willing to pay.

It really depends. I sold a Japanese first edition Holographic Charizard for over $2,000 once. But that was a rare case and the card was in near perfect condition. Most of the time, the cards I find at garage sales or online are worth maybe a buck or two. Always check the rarity and condition!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
