I think stars matter more if you’re into competitive play or raids. For regular catching and gym battles, just go with your favorites!
Stars, or IVs (Individual Values), are pretty important if you want to max out your Pokemon’s potential in battles, but casual players can still have tons of fun without stressing over them!
I’ve been playing since day one, and while I do check stars for my top-tier Pokemon, I wouldn't lose sleep over them. It’s a game, enjoy it!
