How much gold is in gold-plated Pokemon cards?
PracticingClock路7 months agoGold-plated Pokemon cards are more about the bling than actual precious metal content. They're cool collectibles, but if you're thinking you've got a Fort Knox in your card binder, think again. The gold plating is super thin, just enough to give it that shiny look. We're talking a minuscule amount, so the value comes more from the rarity and collectibility of the card than the gold content itself.

Honestly, not much. If you're looking to cash in on the gold, it's not gonna be a gold mine. But as a collector's item, definitely holds its weight in cool factor!
Don't quit your day job thinking you'll melt them down into a golden statue of Pikachu. The gold layer is merely cosmetic, barely enough to measure.
