I've found that 3GB of VRAM significantly improves my experience, especially on higher settings. So, it's worth aiming a bit higher if you can.

Honestly, 1GB of VRAM works fine if you don't mind lowering some graphics settings. Not everyone needs ultra-high settings to enjoy the game.
