How much is the Steam tax?
ComputingTopaz路7 months agoSteam doesn't have a 'tax' in the traditional sense you might be thinking of, like sales tax. However, if you're talking about selling items on the Steam Marketplace, Valve takes a cut of those sales - typically around 5% for Steam itself and an additional 10% for the game developer, making it a total of around 15% that goes away from your pocket.

Actually, it kinda depends on where you live. For buying games, Steam adds your local sales tax to the price of the games, so the 'Steam Tax' is really just your regular sales tax. But yeah, for selling items on the marketplace, they take about a 15% cut.
Steam Tax? More like Steam's cut. For the marketplace, expect to give up around 15%. But for actual game purchases, it's just your local sales tax at play. Just remember that part of your game splurge goes to your local government, not Valve.
