The Rising of the Shield Hero anime closely follows the light novel series, but it does take some liberties and condenses certain parts for pacing. Overall, it's pretty faithful!

Hot take: The anime should just be appreciated for what it is. Books and shows are different mediums, and that's okay.

As someone who's read the light novels, I'd say the anime is a solid adaptation. It stays true to the main plot points and character arcs with only minor changes.

I've seen both the anime and read the manga, and while the anime sticks to the main storyline, it skips some scenes from the light novel. Still worth watching!
