Basically, if you're watching the anime, you're getting about 50% of the manga's storyline. The rest is anime-original content. The manga has a lot more depth and follows a different ending, so definitely check it out if you want the complete experience.

Honestly, the anime diverges from the manga around episode 35. So, for a faithful adaptation, manga it is.

From personal experience, I started the manga after finishing the anime and realized they are quite different past the halfway point. Definitely worth reading!

The Soul Eater anime covers up to chapter 37 of the manga, which is roughly halfway through. After that, it kind of goes off on its own path, so if you want the full story, the manga's your best bet!
