The 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime diverges from the manga around episode 26, with a significant portion considered filler from there on. It's still worth a watch for a different take on the story!

About half of the 2003 series is filler since it diverges from the manga at the midpoint. But hey, it's like getting two stories in one universe!

The second half of the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime is filler since it deviates from the manga's storyline.

As a die-hard FMA fan, I can tell you: it starts diverging around episode 25 or 26. Some consider the rest filler, but it's still epic!
