I went through this! Microsoft fixed it for $99 but check if you're still under warranty first. Local shops might charge a bit less.

If your Xbox 360 is out of warranty, expect to pay around $100-$150 for repairs. If it's under warranty, shipping it to Microsoft will cost around $20 for shipping.

Last time I checked, local repair shops charged me $60 to fix the Red Ring of Death. YMMV!
