I remember scrounging every penny to buy them for around $4 a pack. It felt like striking gold when you pulled a holographic card.

Back in the heady days of 1999, a new pack of Pokemon cards would usually set you back about $3.99. Stores couldn't keep them on the shelves, and we'd save our allowances just to get our hands on a new pack, hoping for that shiny Charizard!

$4 might've been retail, but good luck sticking to that if your local card shop sensed the hype. Some jacked up prices quicker than Team Rocket blasting off again!

Only $4? More like an investment. Some of those cards are worth hundreds or even thousands now. Missed out on bitcoin? Should've stocked up on Pokemon cards.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
