The first generation Pokemon cards, also known as Base Set cards, were originally released in Japan in 1996 and then in the United States in 1999. So, they're over two decades old, making them a real vintage treasure for collectors!

LOL, if those cards were people, they'd be old enough to drink in the U.S.! Hitting the big 2-3 since their US release in 1999.

Way too old for you to find 'em in mint condition at your local garage sale. We're talking 1996 in Japan and 1999 in the US. Good luck hunting.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
