I've been playing since 2016, and I've only seen the Lake Trio a handful of times. They're rare, but that's what makes them so special when you do find one!
Honestly, the Lake Trio is one of the rarer sets of Pokémon in the game. Your best bet is to keep an eye out for event announcements.
Don't hold your breath. The Lake Trio hardly ever shows up.
