Super simple - pop in the SD card, and the Deck does the rest. It's like magic, but for storage.

Accessing your SD card on the Steam Deck is pretty chill! Just slot your SD card into the Steam Deck's microSD card slot located underneath the device near the USB-C port. Once it's in, the Deck should automatically detect it and show it as available storage. Boom, you're ready to start downloading games directly to the SD card or moving existing ones there.

If you're running into trouble, make sure the SD card is properly formatted. The Deck likes 'em in exFAT or FAT32. If it's not showing up, a quick reformat might just do the trick!

Don't bother, internal storage is way faster. Use the SD only for games you rarely play.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
