Equip the consumable in your Arsenal first, then use it mid-mission from the Gear menu (hold Q on PC or your gear button). Easy peasy!

Honestly, I've found that just smashing Q and choosing what you need works wonders. Remember to equip consumables in your gear slot first, though.

Just click Q (or whatever the Gear hotkey is) and select the item from the wheel. Make sure you've equipped it beforehand!
